The story behind this knife
A beautifully polished, razor-sharp hybrid built to handle the finest details of your daily prep with absolute elegance.
One of one. Never to be repeated.
"A 145mm utility knife is the unsung hero of the kitchen. It gives you more board clearance than a petty knife, but retains a laser-like agility that massive chef's knives lack. For this piece, I wanted the aesthetics to mirror that dual nature: we left the raw, dark texture from the forge at the spine, but brought the San-Mai bevels to a brilliant, highly reflective polish. It’s an elegant everyday laser."Korben Bloomfield

The Making of This Knife
Refining the Daily Workspace
When designing a mid-sized utility knife, the goal is always to create a tool that feels weightless yet highly capable. At 145mm, this blade bridges the gap between delicate hand-held tasks and fast-paced board work.
The soul of this knife lies in the meticulous finishing process. Forging the 80CrV2 core into the stainless San-Mai jacket was only the first step. To truly do justice to the lamination line, we transitioned from a rugged, textured forge finish at the spine down into a beautifully polished bevel. This grinding process requires an incredibly steady hand; the boundary line must remain perfectly uniform on both sides of the blade while tapering to a thin, high-performance general-purpose edge.
To match this striking blade, the handle was built using a stunning piece of smoky grey stabilized burl with custom-tinted resin sections, sculpted into a geometric modified WA style handle that sits proudly in its custom KWB presentation box. It is a stunning balance of raw forging history and ultra-refined modern design.
